Sickness

If you suspect your child may be getting sick, I encouage you to get to the doctor. I would not want any of these illnesses to ruin your holiday plans.

Good Choices

We have spent a lot of time talking about making good choices lately. Starting tomorrow I will begin using the "Today and Tomorrow" form shown below to help those student who find it difficult making good choices. If your child should bring home the "Today and Tomorrow" form, please take the time to discuss it. Then sign the form and send it back to me in your child's Frog Folder. Thank you for support.

P for Pajama

On Friday November 18th we will be celebrating the letter P by wearing our pajamas to school and having popcorn for snack. Please make sure the students wear PJ's that are warm enough to go out for recess. I hear there is snow in the air.

Parent- Teacher Conferences

Reminder:
The students will be dismissal at noon on Monday, November 14th and Tuesday, November 15th for Parent-Teacher conferences. I look forward to meeting with everyone, and sharing your child's progress. Harvest Activities

Today the children took part in some Harvest activities at school today. They were able to make apple cider from an apple press, visit with the dairy princess, play a gardening game, and try new vegetables and fruit such as spinach and dried apples. Evacuation Drill

The evacuation drill that was scheduled originally for tomorrow September 28th, has been postponed until Tuesday, October 4th. This is due to the weather forecast for tomorrow.

Library

Just a quick reminder:
Tomorrow (Friday) is library. Library books are due.
If a child does forget their library book he/she will still have the chance to still visit with different books while we are at the LRC, but will not be able to bring another home till the first is returned.

Banford Library Visits with Mrs. Palmateer

On Fridays we will be visiting the LRC (Library) at 1:40. This week the students were able to check a book out to take home and read with you. The students will be asked to return their book next Friday. I will place a reminder Thursdays in their Frog Folders.

How to take care of a book:
* find a safe spot to store the book
*return the book the following Friday
*keep the book away from food and drink
*turn the pages by the corners

First Day of School


WOW!!!! What a great day!!!!! Ask your child to show you what their face looks like when they have the jitters. Also ask them what they are supposed to do when Mrs. Newman sings "Peanut, Peanut Butter".
I sent their "Frog Folders" home in their back pack today, make sure it comes back to school tomorrow. This will be our main line of communication throughout the year. It will go home and back to school every day.

Open House

It was wonderful to meet so many of you at Visitation on Friday. For those who could not make it I am really looking forward to our first day of school on Tuesday Sept. 6th.
  • A number of  parents asked about volunteer opportunities. I will be sending out a schedule of days and times as soon as the students and I are comfortable with our daily schedule and routines.
  • I will be providing snack for the first week of school. After that the students will be responsible for bringing in their own healthy snack
